About Us
As the Yakamoz UAV Team, composed of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, we focus on developing fully autonomous systems. Our goal is to produce innovative and intelligent technologies that can address environmental challenges. (The demo image shown here is entirely developed by our team and belongs to a project where artificial intelligence learns to play a game on its own through environmental interactions.) The technology we develop integrates unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous robots. Our systems, using specialized algorithms, can learn autonomously without any external intervention. This results in artificial intelligence that improves over time by learning from every new experience. Our aim is to apply this technology in various fields to simplify life and provide eco-friendly solutions. As a team, we continue to develop intelligent and sustainable technologies that can meet the needs of the future.
Our projects
TRACKING ALGORITHM
Developed by the Yakamoz UAV Team, the Görü Project features detection and tracking software created using two different algorithms, successfully minimizing the need for powerful hardware. As a result, the onboard computer operates more efficiently, improving the accuracy of object tracking.
ŞAHİT
Unlike open-source ground control station software, the ŞAHİT Ground Control Station has been uniquely designed and developed by our team to transmit autonomous mission commands to our aerial vehicles and ensure a reliable communication infrastructure with them.
Project SUAS 2024
The fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) platform we designed for the SUAS-2024 competition held in the United States. The platform is capable of fully autonomous flight and can detect individuals in emergencies using the AI-based computer vision software developed by our team, as well as deliver medical cargo packages.
ÜLGEN
ÜLGEN, a 4-motor hexacopter platform, was designed alongside a ground vehicle equipped with machine learning algorithms to prevent forest fires. However, due to the platform's insufficient payload capacity, the project shifted to a hexacopter with a higher payload capacity.
SUAS-2024
In its founding year, 2024, and with its first competition experience, our team participated in the SUAS-2024 competition organized by Robonation in the United States with the vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing aircraft, Fergani, which we developed.
